NCPC Boss Urges Intending Christian Pilgrims to Pray for Nigeria and the Leadership
Abuja, Nigeria – September 26, 2025
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has called on the third batch of intending Christian pilgrims from Imo and Adamawa States to fervently pray for Nigeria and its leadership during their spiritual journey to Israel and Jordan.
Speaking at the Pilgrims Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Bishop Adegbite encouraged the pilgrims to intercede specifically for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as they embark on the holy mission.
He commended President Tinubu for his unwavering support towards religious pilgrimages in Nigeria, noting that his administration has demonstrated equal commitment to both Christian and Muslim pilgrimages.
“As you journey to the Holy Land, I urge you not only to pray for yourselves and your families but also to remember our dear country, Nigeria, especially as we mark the 65th anniversary of our independence,” Bishop Adegbite stated.
He reiterated the Commission’s commitment to curbing pilgrim abscondment, a recurring challenge during such spiritual exercises. “NCPC is committed to achieving zero abscondment, and we have put strict mechanisms in place to prevent any such incidents,” he affirmed.
The third batch of intending Christian pilgrims has since landed safely at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan. They are expected to spend 10 days undertaking spiritual activities across Jordan and Israel, including visits to key biblical sites that hold deep historical and religious significance.
The pilgrimage is part of the Commission’s efforts to strengthen the spiritual lives of Christians in Nigeria and foster national unity through shared religious experiences.
