NIGERIA POLICE FORCE WRAPS UP BIPOGA ASABA 2026 AS FORCE HEADQUARTERS TOPS MEDAL TABLE

The has formally concluded the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) “Asaba 2026” at the in , bringing to a close a week marked by athletic excellence, institutional cohesion, and professional discipline.
The Inspector-General of Police, , PhD., NPM, described the tournament as a defining institutional moment where competition revealed character.

He stated that what began as a convergence of Commands and Formations matured into a powerful demonstration of unity, resilience, and shared purpose across the Force.

According to the IGP, the theme of this year’s Games, “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action,” was seamlessly woven into every facet of the competition. He noted that the spirit of sportsmanship, mutual respect, and discipline displayed by officers throughout the tournament underscored the core values of the Force. He further emphasised that the physical discipline cultivated through sports directly enhances operational readiness, teamwork, and service delivery to citizens nationwide.

While formally declaring the Games closed, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, , FCA, PhD, commended the Nigeria Police Force for exhibiting discipline, dignity, and dedication beyond the badge. He reaffirmed Delta State’s unwavering commitment to promoting sports as a strategic tool for unity, youth development, and national progress.

The grand finale featured a series of thrilling events, including the football finals, a frisbee demonstration, tug-of-war finals, 4×100 relay races, and invitational competitions involving sister security agencies. The ceremony culminated in a vibrant closing concert that celebrated the camaraderie fostered throughout the Games.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Force Headquarters emerged as overall champions, topping the medal table after a strong and consistent performance across multiple sporting categories. Zone 2 Lagos secured second place, while Zone 9 claimed third position, reflecting the competitive spirit and high standards that defined BIPOGA Asaba 2026.


As the curtain falls on the 15th Biennial Police Games, the Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to carrying forward the unity, discipline, resilience, and esprit de corps displayed in Asaba into its policing duties across the country.
