NIGERIA SETS TO STAGE LONGEST DINING TABLE FOR ORIKI FESTIVAL

Abuja, Nigeria – December 6, 2025

The Nigerian Institute for Hospitality, Tourism Operators and Regulators is set to launch its flagship gastronomy festival, “ORIKI”, a grand celebration of Nigeria’s rich culinary heritage, cultural pride, and royal traditions. The event aims to spotlight the essence of Nigerian royalty through food, storytelling, and community engagement, while promoting the nation’s image as a vibrant culinary destination.

According to Glory Agbor’s report, a special briefing held in Abuja brought together top tourism officials, media experts, chefs, and food enthusiasts to unveil the festival’s vision, programs, and anticipated impact on Nigeria’s tourism and economy.

One of the major highlights of the ORIKI Festival will be a Guinness World Record attempt for the longest dining table, a spectacle expected to host over three thousand diners in a grand Nigerian royal banquet experience. Organizers describe the event as a fusion of tradition and innovation — a showcase of local delicacies, royal etiquette, and the artistry of Nigerian hospitality.
Set to take place at Eagle Square, Abuja, the festival will officially commence on December 6, 2025, under the captivating theme:
“Taste of Culture: A Royal Banquet Experience.”

Through ORIKI, the Institute seeks to strengthen Nigeria’s cultural identity, encourage sustainable culinary practices, and position the country as a leading destination for gastronomy tourism in Africa. The event is also expected to provide opportunities for local chefs, food vendors, artisans, and tourism stakeholders to collaborate and share the beauty of Nigerian cuisine with the world.

As preparations intensify, excitement continues to build among Nigerians and international observers eager to witness a record-breaking celebration of taste, tradition, and togetherness — truly, a royal feast like no other.
