No Extension of UTME Registration After March 8th, 2025 – JAMB
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that there will be no extension of the registration deadline for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) beyond March 8, 2025. This was disclosed in a statement issued by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja.
The UTME registration, which began on February 3rd, 2025, is scheduled to close on March 8th. Dr. Benjamin revealed that over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered so far, a figure that aligns closely with the board’s projections for the 2025 examination cycle.

JAMB urged prospective candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the established timeline and avoiding last-minute rushes.
“The board wishes to remind all prospective candidates that the registration deadline remains March 8, 2025. There will be no extension. We encourage candidates to complete their registration promptly to avoid any inconveniences,” Dr. Benjamin stated.
The announcement comes as part of JAMB’s efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process for the UTME, which serves as a critical gateway for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The board has also reiterated its commitment to providing a seamless experience for candidates, including robust support systems for technical issues and inquiries.
Candidates are advised to visit accredited registration centers and follow the guidelines provided by JAMB to complete their registration before the deadline.
