Ogun Deepens Agribusiness Reforms as OGSTEP Chair Leads Strategic Review With IITA
The Chairman of the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP) Project Steering Committee and Ogun State Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Hon Prince OlaDapo Okubadejo, joined a strategic project review and team retreat held by the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan.

The retreat focused on fast-tracking Ogun State’s agribusiness transformation agenda and strengthening ongoing collaborations between OGSTEP, the World Bank, and IITA.
A major highlight was the review of the Ogun State Farmers Information Management System (OGFIMS), a digital platform funded under OGSTEP. OGFIMS links farmers to government programmes and value chain partners, giving them access to markets, real-time data, training, and digital tools that raise productivity and support profitable farming.
Hon Prince Okubadejo noted that the platform has become central to Ogun State’s strategy for boosting food security, improving extension services, and supporting agribusiness MSMEs.
The collaboration with IITA is expected to strengthen capacity, expand innovation across value chains, and deepen the State Government’s drive to modernise agriculture and improve rural livelihoods.
