Olukoyede Cautions Youths against Social Vices
Port Harcourt, Rivers State – February 20, 2026
The Executive Chairman of the (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has cautioned youths across the country to steer clear of social vices and acts of corruption in order to take their rightful place as future builders of the nation.
Olukoyede gave the charge on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the when a delegation of the Youth Anti-Corruption Society paid a courtesy visit to the Directorate.
Speaking through the Acting Director of the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Hassan Saidu, Olukoyede tasked the youths to always follow the path of integrity, stressing that the cost of corruption far outweighs any apparent or temporary benefits derived from social vices.
He urged them to serve as good ambassadors and foot soldiers in the fight against corruption, internet fraud, and other related crimes, noting that the nation looks up to young people to drive meaningful and lasting change.
According to him, “The youths are the leaders of tomorrow, and that is why the Commission is trying its best to connect with them. The nation is relying on you to bring about positive change through attitudinal redirection.”
Olukoyede further emphasized the need for collective responsibility in building a better society. “To make the society a better place for our survival, we must prevent the leakages in our environment. The youths are the movers of the nation.
The government and the Commission are doing their best to develop the nation and to empower the youths for the good of the society,” he said.
Earlier in his remarks, leader of the delegation, Comrade Sampson Abibo, thanked the Commission for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage as a youth anti-corruption body. He explained that the visit was aimed at strengthening existing collaboration with the EFCC in the fight against corruption.
“We are members of the Youth Anti-Corruption Society. We have been partnering with the Commission for the past five years in Rivers State and have launched a project called ‘Student Anti-Corruption Initiative of Nigeria,’ a campaign against social vices, drug abuse, and theft in both secondary and primary schools,” Abibo stated.
He added that the organization remains committed to partnering with the EFCC to tackle internet fraud, cyberbullying, hacking, and other unhealthy practices that negatively impact society.
The visit reinforced the shared commitment between the EFCC and youth-led organizations to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability, particularly among the younger generation, as part of broader efforts to rid the nation of corruption and related crimes.
