Oyo State Governor Makinde Opens New PDP Secretariat in Ibadan
Ibadan, Oyo State – February 6, 2026
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially declared an end to internal disruptions within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. The announcement came during the inauguration of the party’s new secretariat located in Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
Grace Ayanleke reports that the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Kabiru Turaki, SAN, officially unveiled the new secretariat, which was generously donated to the party by Governor Makinde. The gesture has been widely described as a demonstration of the governor’s unwavering commitment to the growth, stability, and institutional development of the PDP in Oyo State and nationwide.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Makinde emphasized that “sanity has returned to the party,” while distancing the Oyo State government from ongoing internal legal disputes and leadership struggles at the national level.
In a move that cements the party’s local leadership, Governor Makinde also declared that the new secretariat be named after the state’s PDP Chairman, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha, and that the property be formally placed under the care of the party’s trustees.
The inauguration has been hailed by party members as a significant step toward unity, institutional growth, and stability for the PDP in Oyo State.
