Police Crackdown on Miscreants in Orile: Weapons Seized, Shanties Destroyed

Concerned by reports of harassment by miscreants in the Orile environs, particularly along the Badagry Expressway, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Orile Division initiated regular patrols in the affected areas.

The strategic move aimed to address the growing concerns of residents and commuters faced with threats from unruly elements lurking in the vicinity.

In a bid to identify the source of the problem, the tactical team launched an investigation into the activities of the miscreants, uncovering their hideouts in makeshift shanties adjacent to the road.

During the operation, law enforcement officers raided the identified shanties, leading to the discovery of alarming weaponry. Among the items recovered were two locally made pistols, six live cartridges, a battle axe, a hammer, and two scissors.

While no suspects were apprehended during the raid, the weapons seized serve as a testament to the illicit activities carried out by these individuals operating in the area.

In response to the discovery, authorities swiftly moved to demolish the shanties where the weapons were found, eliminating potential bases for criminal operations.

Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the suspects involved in the unlawful activities, ensuring that those responsible for instilling fear and insecurity in the community are brought to justice.

The Lagos State Police Command reiterates its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all Lagosians. Such proactive measures underscore the dedication of law enforcement agencies to maintaining peace and order in the state.

As investigations continue, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities, contributing to efforts aimed at creating a safer environment for all.
