
In a significant victory for security forces combating vandalism and theft in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Police Command successfully apprehended six suspects for their involvement in the vandalism and theft of a transformer.

The operation, which took place on April 11, 2024, at approximately 10:45 PM, saw the arrest of Kabiru Muhammed, Aliyu Usman, Abdulmalik Alhasassan, Shafi’u Suleiman, Suleiman Ibrahim, and Raymond Mailabari. All suspects, residents of Tipper Garage, Mpape, Abuja, were intercepted while attempting to escape with a vandalized transformer loaded onto a crane truck in Maitama.
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives swiftly moved to thwart the criminal activity, culminating in the apprehension of the suspects and the recovery of incriminating evidence. Among the items recovered were the vandalized transformer, a crane truck, a blue-colored Mercedes Benz (Reg No. PKN 497 XA), a white-colored J5 bus (Reg No. RBC 228 XC), and an ash-colored Peugeot 406 car (Reg No. GSN 13 AA) belonging to one of the suspects, who is an employee of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
The arrests underscore the relentless efforts of the FCT Police Command to safeguard lives and property in the territory. Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C.
