POWERING AFRICA’S MINING FUTURE: NIGERIA’S VISION FOR REGIONAL GROWTH

Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to driving sustainable growth in Africa’s mining sector, positioning the country as a key player in meeting global demand for critical minerals.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Powering Africa Summit in Washington, DC, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, outlined Nigeria’s strategic vision for strengthening regional collaboration, boosting investment, and enhancing value addition across the mining value chain.

He emphasized the importance of leveraging Africa’s vast mineral resources to foster industrialization, create jobs, and support economic diversification across the continent. According to the Minister, Nigeria is implementing reforms aimed at improving transparency, attracting responsible investors, and ensuring environmental sustainability in the sector.
