In a personally signed statement, President Tinubu described Dr. Abati as “a public intellectual, author, columnist, law graduate and broadcaster who has distinguished himself wherever he has traversed.” The President noted that from his early academic pursuits to his media leadership roles, Dr. Abati has left a mark of excellence and professionalism.
“In the university as a student and later as a Graduate Assistant, as Chairman of the Editorial Board of The Guardian, as a writer and presently as a television anchor, Dr. Abati has demonstrated a rare depth of intellect and dedication,” President Tinubu stated.
He further lauded Abati’s “insightful articles, regular interventions and television analyses” which, according to him, “have continued to enlighten and inspire Nigerians.”
