President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of his ascension to the revered throne of the Benin Kingdom, marked on Monday, October 20.

The President further lauded Oba Ewuare II’s tireless efforts in championing a cultural renaissance and preserving Nigeria’s rich traditional values. He acknowledged the monarch’s ongoing work toward the repatriation of stolen African artefacts from Western institutions, describing it as a significant contribution to the restoration of Africa’s historical identity and pride.
“As the Oba of Benin marks nine impactful years on the ancient throne of his forebears, we salute his enduring leadership, wisdom, and dedication to cultural preservation,” the President stated.
President Tinubu concluded by praying for the Almighty God to grant the Oba of Benin continued good health, a long life, and more historic accomplishments in the service of his people and the nation at large.
