PRESIDENT TINUBU RECEIVES BRIEFING ON KWARA KILLING

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been formally briefed on the deadly attack on Worro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, where over a hundred residents were reportedly killed by gunmen.
The briefing took place at the State House, Abuja, following an on-the-spot assessment visit to the affected community by the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Governor AbdulRazaq, who visited Worro on Wednesday to assess the scale of destruction and engage with survivors, conveyed first-hand details of the incident to the President.

According to the governor, the attackers invaded the community in a coordinated assault, resulting in the loss of many lives and the destruction of properties. He outlined the immediate humanitarian needs of displaced residents and the security challenges facing the area, while also highlighting steps already taken by the state government to provide relief and restore calm.

President Tinubu expressed deep concern over the tragic loss of lives and strongly condemned the attack. He assured the governor and the people of Kwara State of the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The President also directed security agencies to intensify operations in the affected area to prevent further attacks.

The President emphasized that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority of his administration, adding that the Federal Government will work closely with the Kwara State Government to support victims, strengthen security, and restore normalcy to Worro community and its surrounding areas.

Governor AbdulRazaq thanked the President for his swift attention to the matter and reaffirmed the state government’s resolve to collaborate with federal authorities to ensure lasting peace and security in the region.
