Abuja, Nigeria – November 9, 2025
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a clear affirmation of his visionary leadership and commitment to progress in the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday, President Tinubu commended the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful and credible conduct of the governorship election.
“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” the President said.
He noted that Governor Soludo, popularly known as Mr. Solution, has demonstrated that academic knowledge and sound governance principles can be effectively applied in public administration, emphasizing accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.
Recalling his visit to Anambra earlier in the year, President Tinubu praised the projects initiated and executed under Soludo’s administration.
“I visited Anambra State in May this year, where I inaugurated some projects executed by the Soludo administration. I highlighted the good thinking behind the landmark projects being embarked upon by Mr. Solution. That experience is indeed remarkable and will remain indelible in my mind,” he stated.
The President commended Governor Soludo for bringing “discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance,” adding that under his leadership, Anambra continues to live up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.
He urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory and to seek cooperation from his political opponents in advancing the development of the state.
“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support, and I look forward to continued collaboration between Anambra and the Federal Government,” Tinubu added.
The President also commended INEC and its new Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for conducting what observers have described as a credible election, urging the commission to sustain and improve its performance to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.
President Tinubu emphasized that the success of the All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) in the election underscores the vibrancy of Nigeria’s political system, where “victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied.”

Speaking at the Council’s Expanded General Purpose Committee Meeting in Abuja, the Sultan urged the faithful to use their platforms to foster harmony and counter divisive narratives about the country’s religious landscape.
“As a religious body, we remain committed to playing a positive role in addressing the challenges of negative commentaries about our nation’s religious status,” the Sultan said.
He cautioned against the misuse of social media for propaganda or spreading falsehoods capable of undermining national cohesion.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who also attended the meeting, reiterated the administration’s commitment to building a united Nigeria “not through the barrel of a gun, but through truth and trust.”
