The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Ogun State strongly refutes Hon. Ladi Adebutu’s claim that members of our esteemed party have decamped to his camp or his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). As the official spokesperson of the ADC Ogun State, I, Hon. Olumide Onabajo, want to clarify that no member of our party has defected to Hon. Adebutu’s group or any other party.
We emphasize that all members of the ADC are loyal and committed to the principles and ideologies of our great party. We have built a strong foundation based on integrity, transparency, and genuine service to the people of Ogun State. Our members remain steadfast and united in their support for the ADC.
We condemn the spread of misinformation and false claims circulating on social media platforms. The video released by Hon. Adebutu in Shagamu today is misleading and deceptive. It is disheartening to witness political actors attempting to gain cheap political scores by using our party’s name. Instead of focusing on his issues within the PDP, where he is about to be ousted, Hon. Adebutu is busy engaging in a jamboree.
A person with the resources available to him who lost an election despite having a prominent Deputy Governorship Candidate and the support of all opposition parties should reconsider his priorities. Hon. Adebutu should focus on rebuilding his business and providing an audited account of his holdings and business interests before parading himself as a leader.
We call on all political parties to refrain from peddling lies and using the ADC as a tool for personal gain. It is crucial for political actors to engage in fair and honest political discourse that focuses on the welfare of the people rather than manipulating the public with false information.
Under the able leadership of our State Chairman, Hon. Abioro Itunu, the ADC Ogun State has emerged as a party of choice. Our inclusive approach, visionary policies, and commitment to good governance have attracted individuals from all walks of life who genuinely want to make a positive impact on our society.
We urge all residents of Ogun State to remain vigilant and discerning, not falling prey to the propaganda being circulated by those seeking to tarnish the reputation and unity of the ADC.
The ADC Ogun State is a political party dedicated to bringing positive change to Ogun State through innovative policies and inclusive leadership. With a commitment to integrity and good governance, we strive to promote the interests of our people and build a society that is prosperous and equitable for all.
Furthermore, we call on the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other national and regional security agencies to take immediate action on this matter. Such blatant lies are not only uncalled for but have the potential to cause unrest and disarray in society. It is imperative that swift measures are taken to address this misinformation and maintain peace and stability.
