RAMADAN: Gov. Ododo Calls for Religious Tolerance, Vigilance, Peaceful Coexistence

The Governor of , , has called on the people of the state to embrace religious tolerance, vigilance, and peaceful coexistence as Muslims around the world commence fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, the Governor described Ramadan as a sacred period of fasting, prayer, reflection, and spiritual rejuvenation for the Muslim Ummah.
According to the Governor, “the holy month of Ramadan offers an opportunity for believers to strengthen their relationship with Almighty Allah and reaffirm commitment to the values of compassion, charity, humility, and self-discipline.”
Governor Ododo urged Muslim faithful to use the Ramadan period to pray for sustained peace, stability, and development of Kogi State and Nigeria at large. He emphasized the need for unity among citizens irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, noting that collective harmony remains vital for meaningful progress.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting freedom of worship and promoting peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths across the state. He stressed that his government would continue to support initiatives that foster interfaith dialogue and strengthen security across communities.
While wishing Muslims a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan, Governor Ododo prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the fasts, prayers, and acts of charity of all believers. He further urged them to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and steadfast in praying for continued peace and progress in the state.
He also enjoined Muslims across Kogi State to extend compassion to the needy and vulnerable, stressing that kindness, generosity, and empathy toward one another represent the true essence of the holy month of Ramadan.
