Regional Hotel Operation: EFCC Raises Disciplinary Team against Errant Officers
The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has formed a Disciplinary Team to investigate the case of two officers who allegedly assaulted a female staff member at Regional Hotel, Ojo, Lagos. The incident, which occurred during an early morning sting operation on Thursday, June 27, 2024, was captured in a viral video.
Olukoyede ordered the immediate arrest of the officers involved and directed them to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team comprising the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity. The hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 1, 2024, at the EFCC’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
The Disciplinary Team will thoroughly investigate the officers’ actions and recommend appropriate measures. Olukoyede emphasized the EFCC’s commitment to accountability and professionalism, stating that no stone will be left unturned in addressing the misconduct.
