Borno State, October 2, 2025

The Renewed Hope Initiative has launched a new phase of its humanitarian efforts in Borno State with the “Flow with Confidence” sanitary pad distribution and a comprehensive food outreach program targeting vulnerable groups. This dual approach combines immediate relief with long-term empowerment, providing essential support to households in need.

The “Flow with Confidence” project focuses on improving menstrual hygiene among schoolgirls by distributing sanitary pads and upgrading sanitation facilities in schools. This initiative aims to enhance hygiene, reduce absenteeism, and boost girls’ confidence, thereby encouraging consistent school attendance and educational achievement.
Nana Kashim Shettima, Vice Chairperson of the Renewed Hope Initiative and wife of the Vice President, officially launched the program in Borno. She emphasized the Federal Government’s dedication to addressing both the urgent needs and systemic challenges faced by women and children across the region.

“The sanitary support scheme is a vital step in promoting menstrual hygiene management, which directly impacts girls’ education and wellbeing,” Shettima stated. “We commend the Borno State Government for their unwavering support and collaboration in making these programs a success.”

Beneficiaries of the program expressed heartfelt appreciation, noting the critical timing of the assistance amid ongoing economic hardships. Many highlighted how the sanitary pads and food supplies have alleviated daily burdens and fostered hope for a better future.
The Renewed Hope Initiative remains committed to nationwide interventions designed to alleviate poverty and empower women and youth. Through targeted programs like this, the Initiative continues to lay the foundation for a sustainable and prosperous future for vulnerable communities across Nigeria.
