In a remarkable display of philanthropy and commitment to education, Honourable Member Representing Bichi Federal Constituency, Rep. Abubakar Bichi, through the Kabir Abubakar Bichi Foundation, has stepped in to alleviate the financial burden of over 3,000 students by settling their school registration and tuition fees.
The Foundation disbursed a total sum of N81,106,152.83, with a significant portion directed towards students at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.
According to Zaharadden Bello, Secretary General of the Foundation, the initiative aims to ensure that students have access to quality education without facing financial constraints. In a statement released on Monday, Bello highlighted the impact of the Foundation’s support on the academic pursuits of beneficiaries.
A substantial portion of the funds, amounting to N35,670,253.38, was dedicated to covering the full session payments for 513 undergraduate degree students. This generous gesture not only relieves the financial burden on students but also underscores the Foundation’s commitment to promoting higher education.
Additionally, over 2,000 NCE students received assistance from the Foundation through scholarships, further demonstrating its dedication to fostering academic excellence and empowering students to achieve their educational goals.
“We’ve disbursed over N35,670,253.38 as full session payments to 513 degree students. Additionally, we’ve covered the first-semester registration fees for 2,487 students, totaling N45,435,899.45,” Bello stated.
