Security: CDS Reassures Military’s Resolve to Restore Peace in Nigeria

Sokoto, Nigeria — December 28, 2025

The Nigerian Armed Forces have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to professionalism, discipline, and the restoration of lasting peace and security across the country.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, gave the assurance while addressing troops of the 8 Division Nigerian Army and Sector Two of the Joint Task Force, Operation Fansan Yamma, during a Christmas luncheon held at the Giginya Cantonment in Sokoto.

In his message to the troops, General Oluyede charged personnel deployed in various theatres of operation to remain resolute, focused, and committed to their constitutional responsibilities despite the challenges associated with ongoing security operations. He emphasized that the Armed Forces remain determined to confront and overcome all threats to national peace and stability.

The CDS commended the troops for their sacrifices, bravery, and dedication to duty, particularly during festive periods when they remain on the front lines to protect lives and property. He noted that their professionalism and discipline continue to earn the confidence and support of Nigerians.

General Oluyede further assured the troops of the continuous support of the military high command, stressing that their welfare, operational readiness, and morale remain a top priority.

The event provided an opportunity for officers and soldiers to interact in a relaxed atmosphere, reinforcing unity and boosting morale as operations to restore peace and security continue across the country.
