SENATE SCREENS AND CONFIRMS DR. DORO AS MINISTER

Abuja, Nigeria – October 30, 2025

The Senate has screened and confirmed Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Dr. Doro, who hails from Plateau State, was nominated last week by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His nomination received widespread commendation across political and professional circles for his distinguished background and academic versatility.

The new minister holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, as well as master’s degrees in Business Strategy and Advanced Clinical Practice—a rare combination that positions him as a multidisciplinary professional equipped for complex national assignments.
Dr. Doro becomes the third minister appointed from Plateau State under the current administration. The first appointee, Simon Lalong, served briefly before winning a court case that cleared the way for him to take up a seat in the Senate. The second, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, also vacated his ministerial position after being appointed National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

During his screening, senators from both the majority and minority parties commended Dr. Doro for his impressive credentials and commitment to national development. He assured the Senate of his readiness to serve with integrity, transparency, and dedication to the vision of the Tinubu administration.

With his confirmation, Dr. Doro is expected to be sworn in alongside other recently confirmed ministers at a date to be announced by the Presidency.
