Struggling with depression? Here are some tips to fight depression without medication

Times are hard, people are trying to make things work. We have plenty things to think about and as a result of this, depression may set in.
People do not want to take medication for their depression as well because we all know how some medication can make us dependent on them.
But not to worry, here are some 5 tips to help depression without medication.

Getting more sleep: Sleep and mood go hand in hand. Get too little of the former and the latter is bound to be affected whether you have depression or not. To support your emotional well-being, make sure you have a “good sleep hygiene.”

Cut back on caffeine: Coffee, tea, soda and even chocolate are steeped in caffeine. If you do tend to rely on caffeine, try cutting back gradually in order to avoid unpleasant symptoms of ‘caffeine withdrawal.’

Get more vitamin D: There’s some evidence That a Vitamin D deficiency could play role in depression. You can get more vitamin D through your diet and lifestyle (like sun exposure).

Exercise more often: You don’t have to run marathon or take gym classes for you to exercise more often. A simple morning and evening walk coupled with low intensity activity each day is enough to exercise more often.

Change your thoughts: Thinking good thoughts can help you feel good. Your thoughts truly do have a direct bearing on your mood.

If you need to talk to anyone, you can always reach out to people close to you or you might want to see a therapist. But always remember that you are alone.
