The Director General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), Professor Innocent Barikor, has initiated a strategic partnership with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) to boost environmental awareness campaigns across Nigeria.

In a recent visit to the NTA headquarters in Abuja, Professor Barikor led his management team to meet with NTA’s Director General, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, and other senior officials. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between NESREA and key media institutions to enhance public education and support for environmental protection efforts nationwide.
Professor Barikor emphasized the critical role of the media in advancing NESREA’s mandate and expressed the agency’s desire to leverage NTA’s extensive reach to raise greater awareness about environmental issues and regulations.

Responding, DG NTA Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos pledged renewed commitment to the partnership, highlighting NTA’s capacity to provide NESREA with the necessary media visibility to effectively engage the Nigerian public. He also underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration as a vital strategy to deepen environmental consciousness and promote responsible stewardship of natural resources.
