The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, the Matawallen Maradun, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Theatre Command Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY).

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, the Matawallen Maradun, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Theatre Command Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY).

The visit took place shortly after he observed the Juma’at prayer at the Theatre Command Mosque.
Receiving the Minister, the Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Bello Idris, expressed profound appreciation for the visit, noting that it reflects the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting ongoing counter-criminality operations across the North West. He described the Minister’s presence as a morale-boosting gesture for troops engaged in various fronts within the theatre.
During his address, Dr. Matawalle commended the troops for their dedication, courage, and sacrifice in confronting criminal elements threatening peace in the region. He charged them to remain resilient, vigilant, and focused as the Federal Government continues to strengthen efforts aimed at restoring long-term stability and security.

The Minister reiterated the government’s assurance to provide enhanced support through improved logistics, resources, and welfare packages designed to sustain the operational momentum of OPFY. He further praised the Theatre Command leadership for the successes recorded so far and underscored the need for continued synergy among all security agencies operating within the North West.
Key highlights of the visit included the presentation of souvenirs to the Honourable Minister, a comprehensive operational briefing by Major General Idris on current activities under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, and a motivational address to troops, during which the Minister expressed deep appreciation for their professionalism, discipline, and dedicated service to the nation.
