The Nasarawa State Government has firmly dismissed as false a recent publication alleging the abduction of students in Doma Local Government Area (LGA).
The government warned individuals and groups against circulating unverified claims capable of undermining the relative peace currently enjoyed across the state.
In an official statement issued by Ibrahim Addra, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the report of a purported kidnapping incident involving students in Doma LGA was described as a “complete falsehood.”
According to the statement, thorough checks conducted by local authorities, the principal of the school mentioned in the report, and members of the host community all confirmed that no such incident occurred in the area.
The Nasarawa State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, also issued a categorical rebuttal, reiterating that the alleged abduction was fabricated and lacked any factual basis.
The state government urged residents to disregard the false alarm and continue to be law-abiding. It reassured citizens of its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property while promoting peace and security across Nasarawa State.
Authorities further emphasized the need for responsible information sharing, warning that the spread of unfounded reports could create unnecessary panic and disrupt communal harmony.
