The Nigerian Senate has officially confirmed the appointment of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN, from Enugu State, as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Abuja, Nigeria — November 8, 2025
Dr. Udeh’s confirmation followed a rigorous screening process at the National Assembly earlier this week, after his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Before his nomination, Dr. Udeh served as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Enugu State, where he was widely recognized for his reforms in the justice sector, commitment to rule of law, and advocacy for institutional transparency.
During the Senate screening, lawmakers commended Dr. Udeh’s extensive legal experience and dedication to public service. Several senators described him as a “brilliant legal mind” and a “patriot committed to national development.”
With his confirmation, Dr. Udeh joins President Tinubu’s Federal Executive Council, where he is expected to bring his wealth of experience in governance, law, and public policy to bear on national decision-making.
The specific portfolio to be assigned to Dr. Udeh is yet to be officially announced, but expectations are high that his inclusion will strengthen the administration’s efforts to promote justice reform and good governance across the country.
