The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has announced that it is intensifying training for a newly formed special squad under the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS).
Abuja, Nigeria — 14 November 2025
The enhanced training program is geared toward flushing out criminal elements who have taken refuge in forests across the country.
According to the NSA, this initiative is part of renewed and comprehensive efforts by the Federal Government to end insecurity and restore lasting peace nationwide. The specialized squad will focus on advanced forest combat operations, intelligence-driven missions, rapid response tactics, and inter-agency coordination to dismantle criminal networks operating from forested regions.
Officials say the upgraded training reflects the government’s commitment to tackling threats such as banditry, kidnapping, illegal mining, and other forest-based crimes that have plagued various states.
The NSA reaffirmed that the administration remains determined to safeguard every part of Nigeria, emphasizing that “no criminal enclave will be left untouched.”
More updates are expected as the program progresses.
