Tinubu Gifts 7,000 Bags of Rice to APC Members in Zamfara as Ramadan Package

President Bola Tinubu has distributed 7,000 bags of rice to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State as part of a “Ramadan package” aimed at alleviating economic hardship among party members and less-privileged individuals in the state. The gesture, which underscores the president’s commitment to supporting his party and vulnerable citizens, was launched by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, who represented Tinubu during the handover ceremony at the APC Secretariat in Gusau on Saturday.

In a statement issued by the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Yusuf Idris, the party described the initiative as a timely intervention to reduce the economic challenges faced by many Nigerians, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. The statement revealed that the rice would be distributed freely to targeted beneficiaries, including state, local government, and ward executives of the party.

Matawalle, while presenting the rice to party officials, emphasized that the gesture was a token of appreciation for the dedication and loyalty of APC members in Zamfara State. “This gesture is to appreciate the efforts of the APC leadership in the state for their hard work, dedication, and loyalty, which have made the party stronger and more united,” he said. The minister also called for continued unity and support within the party, assuring members that the leadership would continue to provide necessary backing to ensure the party’s success.

He further urged party members to pray for sustainable peace and stability in Zamfara State and across Nigeria, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in addressing the nation’s challenges. “As leaders, we will continue to support the party in whatever form to succeed,” Matawalle added.

Ibrahim Dangaladima, the state Secretary of the APC, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and Matawalle for the timely intervention, describing the distribution of rice as a critical response to the urgent need for food assistance in the state. “The free rice came at the right time when people needed urgent food assistance,” Dangaladima said, noting that the gesture would go a long way in alleviating the suffering of many families during Ramadan.

The distribution of the Ramadan package is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the APC’s support base in Zamfara State while addressing the economic hardships faced by its members and the broader community. The initiative also reflects the Tinubu administration’s focus on grassroots engagement and welfare-oriented policies, particularly during periods of heightened economic difficulty.

As the rice distribution commences, the APC in Zamfara State has pledged to ensure transparency and fairness in the process, ensuring that the intended beneficiaries receive the support they need. The gesture has been widely welcomed by party members and residents, who view it as a demonstration of the president’s commitment to the well-being of Nigerians.
