TROOPS ARREST MAJOR DRUG SUPPLIER TO TERRORISTS IN ADAMAWA

Uba, Adamawa State — November 16, 2025

Troops of 232 Battalion (Tactical) under Sector 4 of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have achieved a significant operational success with the arrest of a major drug supplier linked to Boko Haram terrorists. The suspect, Zubairu Muhammed, aged 45, was apprehended in the early hours of 13 November 2025 in Uba town, Adamawa State.
According to military sources, Muhammed is believed to be a key distributor of cannabis sativa and “ice” (methamphetamine) to terrorist cells operating across Askira-Uba, Chibok, Michika, and Damboa in both Adamawa and Borno States. His sustained supply chain reportedly supported the criminal activities and logistics of insurgent groups in the region.

During the arrest, troops recovered a significant cache of illicit substances and items including:
14 blocks of cannabis sativa, valued at over ₦1 million;
43.9 grams of “ice”, valued at more than ₦3 million; and
Two Army camouflage T-shirts, allegedly used by the suspect during drug distribution to evade security detection.

Preliminary investigations have commenced, and the seized items are scheduled to be handed over to the NDLEA, Yola Command, for further action in accordance with established procedures.
The Military High Command has praised the troops for their vigilance and professionalism, urging them to maintain the operational momentum as efforts intensify to cut off all forms of support to terrorist groups in the North East.

This latest arrest marks another milestone in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations aimed at degrading terrorist networks and dismantling criminal supply chains that fuel insecurity in the region.
