Troops Arrest Terror Suspect, Kidnapper, Recover Illicit Drugs in North East Operations

Troops under the Operation HADIN KAI have recorded significant operational successes in the North East, including the arrest of a suspected terrorist, a kidnapper, and the recovery of illicit drugs during coordinated operations.

In one of the operations, troops arrested a suspected member of the JAS/ISWAP terrorist group, identified as Abubakar Ali, also known as “Saina,” at the Kilo Papa checkpoint while transiting to Maiduguri. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspect was allegedly on a reconnaissance mission. He has since been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.

In a separate development, troops apprehended a suspected kidnapper in the Azir area of Damboa Local Government Area, further strengthening efforts to curb criminal activities in the region.

Additionally, clearance and cordon-and-search operations carried out in Wulgo Junction, Gamboru Motor Park, and surrounding areas led to the recovery of 450 wraps of suspected marijuana and other illicit substances. Suspected drug peddlers reportedly fled upon sighting the troops.

The Military High Command commended the personnel for their resilience, vigilance, and professionalism, urging them to maintain the momentum in ongoing operations aimed at denying террорист groups freedom of action across the theatre.

The operations are part of sustained efforts to enhance security and promote economic stability in the North East region.
