Troops Eliminate Many Lakurawa Terrorists, Recover Weapons in Kadam Forest

Troops of the Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Battalion 7, in conjunction with the 8 Division Strike Team operating under the Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, have eliminated several terrorists affiliated with the Lakurawa group during a coordinated operation in Kadam Forest.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations for 8 Division, Sector 2 Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the operation was launched following credible intelligence reports indicating that more than 100 terrorists had gathered in the forest to plan attacks and kidnapping operations targeting nearby communities.
The troops swiftly mobilized and advanced on the terrorists’ positions within the forest. During the ensuing engagement, many of the criminals were neutralized while others fled the scene under sustained military pressure.
The statement further revealed that weapons and other items were recovered during the operation, dealing a significant blow to the operational capacity of the terrorist group in the area.
Military authorities noted that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts under Operation Fansan Yamma to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace across parts of northwestern Nigeria. Security forces also reassured residents of continued operations aimed at protecting communities and preventing further attacks.
The Nigerian Army urged members of the public to continue supporting security efforts by providing timely and credible information that can assist troops in their ongoing fight against terrorism and criminal activities in the region.
