UPHOLDING DIGNITY AND CARE FOR THE AGED IN IJEBU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

The Member of the House of Representatives representing Ijebu East, Ijebu North and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Folorunso Adegbesan, has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and dignity of senior citizens across the constituency.

The lawmaker was joined by his aide, Hon. Akanbi Babatunde, Special Assistant on Youth Development, during an outreach aimed at showing care and support to elderly residents within the federal constituency. The engagement focused on appreciating the contributions of aged citizens and reinforcing the responsibility of leadership to protect their wellbeing.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Adegbesan described elderly men and women as the backbone of the communities, whose sacrifices and guidance laid the foundation for present development. He stressed that caring for senior citizens goes beyond public office duties and reflects shared human values.

“Our fathers and mothers deserve respect, care, and constant support. Their lives and experiences continue to guide us,” he said.

Hon. Akanbi Babatunde added that the initiative reflects the constituency’s resolve to promote compassion, inclusion, and gratitude, while assuring senior citizens that they remain valued and remembered.

Prayers were also offered for good health, peace, and long life for the elderly, as the leaders wished residents a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

The outreach forms part of ongoing efforts by the constituency leadership to strengthen social responsibility and community support across the federal constituency.
