The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council has assured party members, supporters and political associates that additional appointments will be made as the campaign structure expands ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The assurance was contained in a statement issued by the council’s Director of Strategic Communication, Phrank Shaibu, following the release of the initial list of campaign officials. Shaibu explained that the list represents only an early stage of the campaign’s organisation and does not constitute the final composition of the council.

According to the campaign council, consultations are still ongoing, with further responsibilities expected to be assigned as the structure expands across the country. It appealed to supporters whose names were not included in the first list to remain patient, stressing that their past contributions and sacrifices had not been overlooked.

The campaign said it plans to introduce zonal and state structures, additional senior appointments and further organisational layers extending to wards and polling units. It said the expanded structure would involve party members, experienced political leaders, professionals, young Nigerians and others willing to contribute to the campaign.

The development followed the unveiling of the initial Presidential Campaign Council, with Kashim Ibrahim-Imam named Chairman, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai appointed Deputy Chairman, and Senator Austin Akobundu named Director-General and Campaign Manager. Other appointments included former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, veteran journalist Dele Momodu and former Senator Dino Melaye in various campaign roles.

The council also said its policy structure is being developed around major national issues, including the cost of living, food security, agriculture, security, energy, job creation, manufacturing, education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing and governance. Technology, innovation, social protection, environmental issues and human capital development are also listed among the areas of focus.

The campaign described the emerging structure as a people-driven national campaign, maintaining that there would be opportunities for Nigerians willing to participate as the organisation expands.
