FG APPROVES PORTS UPGRADE IN THREE STATES 

The Federal Government has approved the upgrading of port facilities across three states as part of ongoing efforts to modernise Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure, improve cargo handling and strengthen the country’s capacity to support domestic and international trade.

The approval is expected to pave the way for the rehabilitation and development of port-related infrastructure, with attention to facilities required to make the movement of goods more efficient and reduce operational challenges within the maritime sector.

The initiative is also expected to improve connectivity between the ports and other parts of the country, potentially easing pressure on existing facilities and creating more opportunities for businesses involved in import, export, logistics and other maritime-related activities.

Beyond improving port operations, the Federal Government’s intervention is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s position as a major maritime and trading hub in the region.
