DSS SECURES DEATH PENALTY ON SUSPECT

The Department of State Services (DSS) has secured a death sentence against Ibrahim Usman, also known as Dan Iyali, over his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and killing of three persons in Sokoto State in September 2023.

Usman was prosecuted before the High Court of Justice of Sokoto State, Sokoto Judicial Division, where he faced a four-count charge alongside other suspects who remain at large.

The charges brought against him included criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, culpable homicide punishable by death, and voluntarily causing grievous hurt without provocation.

According to the case, Usman was linked to the abduction and subsequent killing of three victims during the September 2023 incident in Sokoto State. Following the prosecution of the case, the court found him guilty and handed down the death penalty.

The development represents another successful prosecution by the DSS in its efforts to tackle kidnapping, violent crimes and other security threats across the country.
