The Federal Government has inaugurated the MedServe Diagnostic Centre as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure and improve access to advanced medical diagnostic services.

The facility is expected to enhance the capacity of the health sector by providing modern diagnostic services, supporting early detection of diseases and reducing the need for Nigerians to seek specialised medical investigations abroad.

The government also announced plans for a major upgrade of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, with the aim of modernising its infrastructure, improving medical equipment and strengthening the hospital’s capacity to provide quality tertiary healthcare.

The planned intervention is expected to address critical infrastructure and equipment gaps at the institution while improving working conditions for healthcare professionals and the quality of services available to patients.

The Federal Government said the initiatives form part of its broader commitment to revitalising Nigeria’s healthcare system, expanding access to specialised care and reducing medical tourism.
