The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has dispelled speculations that funding may not be available for the completion of the four legacy projects being executed by the current administration.

In a statement, Umahi explained that the 30 percent counterpart funding required for the projects has been fully paid. He said the development would ensure that contractors have the necessary financial support to continue with the projects.
Providing an update on the projects, the Minister said work has reached an appreciable level, while assuring Nigerians that the necessary financial arrangements have been put in place to facilitate their completion.
Umahi also disclosed plans for the Saba-Benin Road, which is currently being executed under a concession arrangement. He said the Federal Government was taking steps to ensure progress on the project.
On the NNPC tax-credit projects inherited by the current administration, the Minister urged contractors handling the projects to return to their various sites and resume work. He warned that contractors who fail to comply could face action from the Federal Government.
The Minister also spoke on the 2027 political activities, expressing confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would receive substantial support in the South-East zone. He, however, urged politicians to focus their campaigns on issues and policies rather than engaging in malicious campaigns against their opponents.
