Tinubu Departs Abuja For Akwa Ibom State Visit, Inauguration Of Major Projects

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for a state visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he is expected to inaugurate several landmark infrastructure projects completed by the administration of Governor Umo Eno.

The presidential aircraft conveying the President took off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, ahead of his engagements in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
During the visit, President Tinubu is scheduled to commission key projects spanning aviation, road infrastructure, public administration, security and tourism, as well as attend a political rally.

According to a statement by the Presidential Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the projects lined up for inauguration include the newly constructed International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village, all located at the Victor Attah International Airport.
The President is also expected to inaugurate the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.

The road projects are expected to improve transportation, strengthen connectivity between communities and ease the movement of people and goods across the benefiting areas.
Other projects scheduled for inauguration include the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.

The projects reflect the Akwa Ibom State Government’s ongoing infrastructure development agenda, with investments across critical sectors aimed at supporting economic activities, improving public services and strengthening the state’s development drive.
The President’s visit also forms part of his political engagements in the South-South region.
