As anticipation mounts across the Southwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria, stakeholders eagerly prepare for the commencement of the 13th Gateway International Trade Fair in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Scheduled to run from April 19 to 29, 2024, at the M.K.O Abiola International Trade Fair Complex, the event promises increased exhibitors, diverse product offerings, and improved transportation arrangements for seamless access to the venue.
According to Oluyemisi Somorin-Dawodu, the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Industry, this year’s trade fair, themed “Achieving Economic Prosperity Through Business Connection, Trade, and Investment,” transcends mere product exhibition. It encompasses a plethora of economic and trade-related activities tailored to enrich the experience of participants hailing from various locations.
Adding to the excitement, residents and stakeholders stand a chance to win enticing prizes, including a grand prize of a two-bedroom bungalow through a raffle draw during the fair. Additionally, an entertainment village will be introduced to elevate the ambiance and cater to the recreational needs of visitors, offering an array of culinary delights and live musical performances.
The introduction of these novel features has generated palpable excitement among stakeholders as the event draws nearer. Both the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), the organizers of the annual Trade Fair, and the Ogun State government are collaborating tirelessly to ensure an unforgettable experience for participants.
OGUNCCIMA President, Engr. Mike Akingbade, expressed optimism about the heightened participation expected at the trade fair, attributing it to the state government’s innovative initiatives. “We are working happily towards holding a more improved trade fair,” he remarked, underscoring the collective efforts geared towards making the event a resounding success.
