EFCC Investigates Bobrisky for Naira Abuse
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has initiated an investigation into the actions of popular Nigerian internet personality, Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, for allegedly spraying Naira notes at a public event.

Operatives from the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC summoned the 31-year-old following a video report showing him spraying and flaunting wads of new Naira notes at the premiere of a movie, “Ajakaju,” produced by Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao. The event took place at Film One Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos, on March 24, 2024.
Further inquiries revealed that Bobrisky had allegedly engaged in similar actions at various other event centers and parties on different occasions.
In response to the EFCC’s invitation, Bobrisky appeared at the Lagos Zonal Command on Wednesday, April 4, 2024, to provide his account of the events in question and has cooperated with investigators.
Upon the completion of investigations, Bobrisky will be prosecuted in court for the alleged offense of spraying Naira notes, as confirmed by the EFCC.
The development underscores the EFCC’s commitment to upholding financial regulations and ensuring compliance with the law regarding the use and handling of the Nigerian currency.
