Title: Federal Government Delivers Food Palliatives to Sokoto State
In a bid to alleviate the challenges faced by vulnerable Nigerians, the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has commenced the distribution of food palliatives from the country’s Strategic Reserves. On April 7, 2024, Sokoto State became the first beneficiary of this initiative, receiving essential food items as part of the government’s efforts to mitigate temporary hardships.

Led by the Minister and Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, a Federal Government delegation presented the food palliatives to Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto. This delivery marks the beginning of a nationwide distribution process aimed at reaching every State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
President Tinubu’s directive to release 42,000 metric tonnes of food from the Strategic Reserves underscores the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable Nigerians during challenging times. The distribution of these food items is a proactive measure to cushion the effects of temporary hardships experienced by many citizens.
Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, emphasized the government’s determination to ensure that the food reaches those in need. Collaboration with state authorities and security agencies is paramount to ensure efficient and equitable distribution across the country. Every State in Nigeria will benefit from this initiative, reflecting the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens.
As the distribution of food palliatives continues, the Federal Government remains steadfast in its resolve to provide relief to vulnerable Nigerians and promote social welfare across the nation.
