
Ughelli, Nigeria – In a significant breakthrough, the Delta State Police Command has apprehended a gang of kidnappers responsible for a series of abductions in the Ughelli area. The arrests come after intensive investigations into the kidnapping and subsequent murder of a man on May 17, 2024.

The suspects, identified as Ismaila Umaru (28), Chede Mohammed (18), both from Nasarawa State, and Mohammed Sani (26) from Abuja, have been linked to multiple kidnapping incidents in the region. The police recovered an AK-49 rifle from the suspects during the arrest, underscoring the gang’s dangerous operations.
Delta State Police Commissioner, Wale Abass, confirmed the arrests and emphasized the command’s commitment to eradicating criminal activities in the state. “These arrests are a testament to our relentless efforts to ensure the safety and security of our citizens.
