AGO-IWOYE — August 16, 2026

The member representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Joseph Folorunsho Adegbesan, has continued his grassroots consultation ahead of the 2027 general elections, taking his engagement to Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government Area.

During the consultation visit, Adegbesan met with the Council of Baales in Ago-Iwoye, Egbe Ọlọja (market leaders), the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the League of Imams and Alfas, and representatives of traditionalists.

The meetings provided an opportunity for the lawmaker to interact directly with the various groups, listen to their concerns and present his account of stewardship as he seeks another mandate to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

Addressing the different groups, Adegbesan emphasised the importance of grassroots engagement in effective representation, noting that regular consultation enables elected representatives to understand the needs and aspirations of the people they serve.

He also highlighted some of his legislative and constituency interventions, including his efforts towards the Ijebu-Ode–Ibadan Road project, educational support, youth development, empowerment initiatives and other interventions targeted at improving the welfare of constituents.

The lawmaker appealed for continued cooperation and support from the traditional institution, religious bodies, market community and other stakeholders, assuring them that he would continue to prioritise projects and programmes that have direct impact on the people.

The Council of Baales, Ẹgbẹ́ Ọlọja, CAN, League of Imams and Alfas, and traditionalist representatives commended Adegbesan for taking his consultation to different sectors of the community.

The stakeholders also used the opportunity to share their observations, concerns and expectations, while emphasising the need for sustained engagement between political representatives and the grassroots.

The Ago-Iwoye consultation forms part of Adegbesan’s wider engagement across Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 elections, as he seeks to consolidate his relationship with constituents and stakeholders across the Federal Constituency.
