The media team of Hon. Bakare Omolola Olanrewaju Serifat, representing Ijebu-Ode State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, has disputed claims concerning the extent of support allegedly provided by Barrister Mokesioluwa Seun Adedamola during her 2023 campaign for the state assembly.

The response followed a publication by an individual identified as Yoboro, also known as Afin Akesi, which the BOO Media Team said contained claims about Adedamola’s alleged support for Bakare after she emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for the Ijebu-Ode State Constituency election in 2023.

In a statement titled “A Stitch in Time Saves Nine”, the media team said the only contribution it attributed to Adedamola after Bakare emerged as the APC candidate was the presentation of 50 printed campaign face caps at the APC Secretariat in Folagbade, Ijebu-Ode.

The team disputed claims that Adedamola actively participated in Bakare’s campaign activities or provided broader campaign materials during the election period.

According to the statement, “during the campaign period, Barr. Mokesioluwa was not present at any of Hon. BOO’s campaign activities”, while also denying that she produced campaign banners in support of the candidate.

The media team specifically challenged the author of the disputed publication to provide photographic evidence showing Adedamola’s participation in any of Bakare’s campaign activities during the 2023 electioneering period.

It also asked the writer to provide evidence of any campaign banner allegedly sponsored or produced by Adedamola in support of Bakare.

The BOO Media Team further disputed a claim that Adedamola carried out extensive mobilisation for Bakare, particularly in Ward 11.

The team alleged that Bakare’s campaign experienced opposition during a visit to the ward and claimed that the campaign team was attacked, resulting in an accident involving a campaign vehicle.

The statement said the incident contradicted the claim of extensive mobilisation in the ward, while urging the writer to seek clarification from his principal before making claims about the 2023 campaign.

The media team maintained that its response was intended to place what it described as the verifiable facts of the 2023 campaign on record.

“Facts are sacred, and history should not be rewritten to suit personal interests,” the statement said.

The team urged members of the public to treat the disputed account with caution and rely on verifiable evidence when assessing claims about the roles played by individuals during the 2023 election campaign.
