A champions response
It was a pulsating game yesterday between English league champions Manchester City and Crystal Palace.
City who are seen as title favorites were hoping to bounce back, having been held to a three all draw by Newcastle United the previous week. Meanwhile, Palace came into this fixture with high morale, taking a point from a struggling Liverpool side in game week 2 and seen off Aston Villa by three goals to one in game week 3.
It looked like the champions were up for a repeat of the same fixture last season, as an own goal by John Stones in the fourth minute and a header by Joachim Andersen from a corner in the twenty-first minute put the visitors two goals up by halftime.
Coming into the second half, City was hoping for some kind of miracle and didn’t have to wait long as eight minutes into the restart in the fifty-third minute Bernado Silva pulled one back for the host.
New and inform striker Erling Halland completed the comeback with a goal in the sixty-second minute, before adding two more goals in the seventieth and eighty-first minute to complete his hat-trick and take the game beyond the visitors. With the champions taking home all three points.
