Governor Yusuf Boosts JTF Operations with New Vehicles and Motorcycles

Kano, Nigeria — November 20, 2025

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has bolstered security efforts across the state with the provision of 10 vehicles and 50 motorcycles to the Joint Task Force (JTF), marking another strategic intervention aimed at improving safety, mobility, and rapid response in high-risk communities.


The distribution, held on Wednesday at the Government House, Kano, is targeted at reinforcing security operations in frontline Local Government Areas including Kiru, Tsanyawa, Kunchi, Ghari, Shanono, Tudun Wada, and Doguwa.
According to a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the newly allocated vehicles and motorcycles are intended to enhance the JTF’s capacity to respond swiftly to emerging threats, maintain surveillance, and strengthen ongoing peace and security operations across the affected regions.


The allocation letter was formally presented by the Director of Special Services, Umar Baba Zubairu, who represented the Director General, Special Services, Major General Sani Muhammad (rtd). The JTF Commander, AM Tukur, was represented by his Chief of Staff during the ceremony.
The event also had in attendance representatives of key security agencies, including the Commissioner of Police, the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Chairmen of Kiru, Tsanyawa, and Gwarzo Local Government Areas were also present to witness the handover.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing security, stressing that the government will continue to support collaborative initiatives that safeguard lives and property throughout Kano State.
He emphasized that the latest intervention forms part of a broader security strategy aimed at ensuring stability, strengthening inter-agency cooperation, and providing safer communities for residents.


With security concerns remaining a top priority, the new logistics boost is expected to significantly enhance the JTF’s operational presence and effectiveness across the state.
