Speaker Abbas’ New Year Message

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated Nigerians on the arrival of the New Year 2026, urging citizens to remain resolute, steadfast, and hopeful as the nation moves forward.

In his New Year message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, Speaker Abbas called on Nigerians to renew their hope in 2026 and continue working collectively for the unity, peace, and progress of the country.
He noted that the outgoing year, 2025, was marked by significant challenges but also witnessed commendable progress in key areas of governance. According to him, notable improvements were recorded in national security as security agencies intensified efforts to restore peace and stability across different parts of the country.

Looking ahead to the new year, the Speaker reaffirmed the commitment of the House of Representatives to the enactment of people-oriented laws. He said the legislature would continue to support policies and reforms aimed at strengthening economic stability, promoting inclusiveness, and safeguarding the security and welfare of all Nigerians, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaker Abbas concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful, productive, and hopeful New Year, encouraging citizens to remain united and optimistic about the nation’s future.
