TROOPS OF OPHK NEUTRALIZE TERRORISTS AND RESCUE HOSTAGES IN KONDUGA LGA, BORNO STATE

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded another significant operational success following a well-coordinated offensive against terrorist elements around Kondunga Local Government Area of Borno State, leading to the rescue of abducted civilians.
According to a statement signed by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the operation was conducted in the early hours of 4 January 2026. Troops, working in close collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), engaged terrorists at a known crossing point along the Sojiri axis.

The engagement resulted in the neutralization of five terrorists without any casualties to own troops. During the operation, the troops successfully rescued three hostages who had been abducted by the terrorists. Additionally, AK-47 rifles were recovered from the scene.
The statement emphasized that the successful operation underscores the unwavering commitment of OPHK to sustained offensive actions against terrorist elements while ensuring the protection of civilians. It also highlighted the critical role of cooperation with local security partners, particularly the CJTF, in achieving operational successes.

Troops’ morale remains high, and security forces continue to maintain dominance across the Theatre of Operations despite the dynamic and evolving security environment.
