TINUBU CONGRATULATES MODI ON 25 YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on attaining 25 years of public service and political leadership.

President Tinubu described the milestone as a significant achievement, particularly in a democratic system, noting that it reflects the continued confidence and support of the Indian people in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership over the years.

In his congratulatory message, President Tinubu highlighted what he described as Modi’s contributions to the development of Gujarat and the broader growth of India. He noted that under Modi’s leadership, India has recorded progress in key areas, including infrastructure development, digital services, financial inclusion and technological innovation.

The Nigerian President also recalled Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Abuja in November 2024, describing the visit as an important moment in the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and India. During the visit, Nigeria conferred on Modi the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), one of the country’s highest national honours.

According to President Tinubu, the visit further strengthened bilateral relations between Nigeria and India and created opportunities for deeper cooperation in several sectors. These include trade and investment, energy, defence and security, healthcare, education, technology and other areas of mutual interest.

President Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening the existing relationship between the two countries, expressing confidence that the friendship and cooperation between Nigeria and India would continue to expand for the benefit of both nations.

He also wished Prime Minister Modi continued strength and success as he continues to serve the people of India, while celebrating the significance of his 25-year journey in public service and leadership.
