Police Rescue Four Abducted Passengers Along Igbeti–Kishi Road, Oyo State

Igbeti–Kishi Road, Oyo State, Nigeria – March 6, 2026

The Oyo State Police Command has announced the rescue of four passengers who were abducted along the Igbeti–Kishi Road in Oyo State following a swift joint security operation.

The Command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed this in a statement, explaining that armed hoodlums allegedly emerged from a nearby bush and blocked the road, intercepting a commercial bus travelling from Igbeti to Kishi.

According to the police, during the attack, four passengers were forcibly taken into the surrounding forest by the assailants.

In response, a joint security team comprising police operatives, personnel of the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun Corps), and Operation Burst, alongside other local security stakeholders, immediately launched an intensive search operation within the surrounding forests.

The sustained pressure mounted by the joint security team reportedly forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims and flee the area.

The four passengers were subsequently rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families.

The police added that further bush-combing and intelligence-driven operations are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice.
